Darryl “Bullet” Knight – Australian Can-am “X-Team
From leading ATV Expeditions in Antarctica, to the Simpson desert; Racing the Kamfari swamps in Darwin and riding Tasmanian forest; Racing Australian Safari in the dunes of WA to parking up at the end of a long ride to the tip of Cape York… I’ve ridden pretty much every terrain possible and it’s all good quad riding to me.
I’m a Motorcycling Australia accredited Coach and Cert4 Trainer and Assessor who specialises in and loves helping people with Quads.
If I had to pick a favourite Quad… I think it would have to be a 2013 Outlander Max 800 XT-P.
Quads and SSV’s are a fantastic ticket to adventure and meeting cool people along the way. And there is no better way to exercise that right than taking a leisurely 3000km ride to Cape York.
The riding variety is incredible, and the trails and scenery are absolutely awesome. I’ll never forget the first tour I did, and I’m sure it will be the same for you.
I can’t wait to meet you in Queensland.
Isaac Lawrence- Tassie Quad Adventures
I am a 35 year old from Tasmania. I have done the Cape trip twice now and not only fell in love with the riding but also everything about riding with a group of like minded people.
The first year I got to the tip with my Suzuki King Quad and then it failed to start to get me back again. Therefore I had to come back the following year where I upgraded to my first Can Am Renegade. Needless to say the 2nd year was a success.
As I enjoyed everthing about riding in groups and could see that Tasmania has so much to offer for quad riders also that myself and my wife Kelly started up our own quad bike organised adventures. Check out www.tassiequadadventures.com.au
On top of running Tassie Quad Adventures I work full time with Protector Alsafe as an account manager looking after customers with providing them with safety equipment. My preffered ride is a Can Am Renegade 800cc
Apart from quad riding I am into the occasional drink or 2 with mates at the pub and when time and money permits I enjoy travelling.
Look forward to meeting you and riding with you in June!
Dean O’brian – Lead Rider
Hi, I’m Dean O’Brien. I have been riding motorbikes since I was 4 yrs old and now at 44 still have the same enthusiasm towards 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers alike. I’ve had 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers and buggy’s throughout my biking career and currently enjoy riding Canam’s.
With my busy life Managing 2 export Terminals between Innisfail and Cairns, I ensure time out by enjoying quad riding of any sort. I have a son that has been riding bikes since he was 4 as well and he has been spoilt with numerous bikes due to my passion and has now purchased his own bike and settled into riding Canam’s too. My son and I have done a couple of trips towards the Cape and really enjoyed taking the quad with us. It’s amazing how much you can get to see when travelling on the quads around the Cape.
Since joining the FNQuadriders Club on the Atherton Tablelands, I have had the opportunity to see some fantastic country and have met some great people, which makes for the best atmosphere when out on either day trips or overnight rides.
I look forward to meeting all those coming on the adventure of a life time to the Cape, there will be some challenges along the way, but hey, that’s what make for a great ride and a fantastic experience, especially when everyone regroups at the end of the day to reminisce about the day just gone. Many people will envy our experience of going to the Cape with like minded people looking for that next adventure.
Jason Butland- fixer

Bob Nichols- Support Truck
Bob is our movements and logistics manager. With extensive experience in the mining industry and a solid history of machinery operation, Bob was an obvious choice for our support driver. Bob enjoys social rides with the F N Quadriders club when he isn’t out fishing on his jet ski.
